I really love my tea kettle most of the time I stand there and watch the water boil in anticipation of a wonderful cup of hot tea. It makes my evening each and every evening after a long day at the office. It's great coming home to a nice cuppa tea and a great pot.
It's a large 1.8 Litre beautiful glass jar with steel at the base along with an adorable blue light. It's pretty fast and has auto cut off.
It works well and looks nice on the counter. I took one star away because the glass does get very hot!ETA- but won't last long! It already broke!
This electric water kettle is great. I appreciate that it lights up because my old one got to a point that it would stay on because the faulty automatic off switch stopped working and it would be on for hours. This kettle lights up to let me know it's still on. Though truthfully it goes off after a certain point. I can't remember how long - maybe two mins or so. Also it has a little pad that connects it to the electrical source. This prevents me from getting all tangled up in the cord as I'm trying to pour. Cool feature. Glass container makes it easy to clean. The kettle is quite loud when the water starts to roar. Kinda weird thing to complain about but I never thought about a tea kettle making much noise, but this one does. It's when the water starts to reach boiling point and the kettle roars. It doesn't whistle, it kinda growls. 4/5 stars
If you tip it to obliquely, it spills out around the lip. It's also quite heavy. Today, March 13, 2023, it died.
This kettle is defective! I've purchased this in January 2023, it worked well for a month but after that it just stop shutting off automatically, so I had to wait until the water boiled and manually switch it off. A few days later it just wouldn't turn off it just keep on boiling, even when I manually switched off the switch it just stayed on and keep on boiling. The only way to turn off the kettle is to removed it from the base. But if you replaced the kettle on the base, even if the switch is on the OFF position it still stays on and keep on boiling also even if the kettle is empty. This is a dangerous liability to the consumers!
