Worth the trouble
This worked out really well after opting out of paying extra for single top shelf and instead measuring shelves and buying a thin white "laminate type" sheeting in wood dept. at big big hardware store (~$*** and they cut it into ALL the correct sizes- thank you ***) and a quick jig saw around the corners To allow for metal corners (want to bear or worried about that & did myself) made this perfect! It wouldn't have worked as well without these pieces on shelves. I'm experienced putting furniture together and home projects and don't like to involve hubby but the directions weren't great and the plastic pieces that you need to place under the metal round areas to create the "stop" for the shelves to rest on felt cheap and tricky, and i needed some more hands to hold the shelf & poles- a definite TWO person job simply because the pieces keep falling until the shelf has been secured into it. First time I've really been frustrated putting something together. Recommend a rubber mallet to help (both with assembling & adjusting.) you eventually do get the hang of it because there are a lot to do. Now works well for her & roommate and seems to have others envious of their cool set up.
