HORRIBLE ASSEMBLY! Almost impossible to assemble. No labels on parts and no words on instructions. Had to disassemble soooo many pieces to make it fit. Would send it back if I could.
The pieces came in four boxes in two different shipments. The first shipment was delivered to my door while the second was left at my apartment office building, which was not convenient for me. A few of the pieces sustained some mild (aesthetic) damage. I mostly had a good experience with assembling this. The main problem I ran into was that there were no pilot holes for the hinge screws — only grooves for the hinges. Every other place where screws were needed had pilot holes. This just means you'll need a drill for this part. The finished product looks nice and functions well. I've been informed by a guest that it sleeps well too. I'm pleased overall with the purchase.
I needed extra sleeping space for company, and didn't have the room for a roll out sofa. Perfect selection for saving space.
Love it! Arrived quickly. Most unique piece of furniture I own and is a conversation starter in the house and out. Little bit of work and learning curve to use and a bit of work to initially put together (we paid ppl putting together something from another source) but much classier than a blow up bed and a sturdy nice piece of furniture on the daily when not being used as a bed in our guest apartment and perfect for when guest have kids with them. I'm not sure would be great for large sized adults tho. But great quality and highly recommend!

Very pleased with the unit. Assembly instructions were good. One screw for the top of the unit was misaligned and it mase assembly of that part quite difficult. Everything else was fine. I would recommend installing the rwo spring clips last. This is the first step in the assembly instructions.
The item works for now, but the desk piece is already coming off. It feels like it should be more sturdy given how much it cost.
Not too hard to put together, very sturdy and easy to use. The mattress is good, but added an additional mattress pad for extra comfort.
Pulled the trigger during a sale, best price online was at BBB/Overstock. Free shipping, arrived 2 days early (purchased Thursday PM, arrived Saturday PM! In nyc. ups brought it all the way up to my apartment too). Comes in 4 big boxes, 2 people needed to put together especially for placing heavy parts together but I did most of the work alone, half a day project. The end product looks exactly as pictured online! Maybe a blemish or 2 in the wood but nothing noticeable. The drill start holes for step 1 weren't lined up properly and you need to use a bunch of wood screws without pre drilled holes but overall it wasn't a terrible assembly experience. The mattress is COMFORTABLE!! And I have a hard time sleeping on lots of mattresses. Used it for a whole week and enjoyed my sleep experience. It's easy to put away and fold back out (be careful to not close any folding parts on your fingers or drop down on your leg!). Wouldn't recommend as a daily bed if you have to fold away each day, not as easy as pulling down a wall bed, but great as a one off or for guests. Two things I didn't notice before buying, 1) the top doesn't actually fold all the way down (photo shows the gap) not sure if this is intentional or a tight hinge. It appears the same in other reviewed photos; 2) the clasps on each side that hold the desk up stick out when folded down as a bed. They just out and will definitely cause bruises if you're not careful. Otherwise I'm so pleased with this purchase!!
So far so good. Maybe five stars after a few uses. Heavy boxes, be prepared! Putting together went well for the most part. Missing a few nuts but AFI sent replacements via FedEx. I really like the look and usefulness of a small desk.
