Story Behind the Art:
This rug is crafted by talented village weavers who hand-knot them in their own homes in Afghanistan. Wool washing, spinning, and dyeing are also done in their homes. Because of the handmade nature of the rug, sizes may vary from the advertised dimensions by up to 4 inches. Regular vacuuming and professional cleaning will keep the rug looking new for years to come. The majority of the weavers are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. By supporting these artisans, we are able to create more jobs for women in the community and help the local farmers through wool sales. Artisans also create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
Note: Due to the handcrafted nature of this rug, variations in color, size, and design may occur. Color discrepancies may also be present between this product and your computer screen.
