Story Behind the Art:
A dedicated ceramist, Alberto Aparicio Canchari is inspired by the customs and beliefs of Andean villages. His workshop seems inhabited by half-finished creatures, waiting for him to give them the breath of life. 'My parents taught me the craft and my wife works with me. Most of our pieces are hand-molded, as only the weight of the hand can give the right shape. Pigments are carefully blended together. I hope that my art will be valued for its cultural background,' he says.
