The person who uses this chair is retirement age, weighs about 220 pounds, and has a spine that needs to stay straight while seated in front of a computer. In the past, after daily use for about a year, chairs get "slumpy," no longer able to be tightened into being level, cushions mash down, raising and lowering mechanisms quit working. Our worker is piling cushions on the seat to be high enough, and the spine is not staying straight. We can't afford the $800 chair recommended--but when this chair was mentioned, we were interested. Now that we have it, we have high hopes for it seems so sturdily built. Also, the bungee cords are SO comfortable, and we can't imagine them stretching out to be "flabby" in a year. We had read reviews carefully, and concur with the positive ones. Someone mentioned he/she wished the seat would be wider--our 220 lb. seated user has about 3/4 inch on both sides between hip and the armrests. An added plus is that the chair can be raised higher than the cheaper chairs we had purchased before. Assembling it was easy--about 15 minutes. We are SO pleased!
I love this set!! I bought for my gazebo off my deck and I see the cushions I got below here for a review. The wood in this is really nice, smooth, deep and rich looking, looks expensive! With the high winds I get (up high) above the river, everything I own outside is nailed or bungeed down, this will be easy because it's all one piece.
I have this chair at my office and have been using it for over three years. It took a while to get used to sitting on bungees, but the chair is very comfortable. I have been dealing with sciatica for years, and using this chair has decreased the pressure on the back of my leg and resolved by leg numbness after sitting all day. I bought the chair from Overstock for my home office. One of the plastic pieces that holds the bungee in place was not properly attached. I had to unattached and screw it back in. The screw hole was not aligned perfectly, but it should function properly. It was the rear bungee on the seat, so it will not get a lot of pressure. Overstock had the best price by far.
Too heavy large for a French plein aire easel as if wi day it might take down your whole workspace but can be attached to just about anything with added bungee cords I put it on my beach chair it has good amount of coverage
