We love the versatility of this heater. It is on our large kitchen floor and throws heat from there into our living room as well. It quickly heats up a drafty area of about 550 sf. I love being able to roll it into a different direction with the wheels and the ability to put it on high or low. The thermostat measures the temp at the floor level which is different from what I'm feeling while standing next to it. It is cool to the touch and is safe for our animals, dogs and cats, to get close to.
The safe was the perfect size--small enough to be hidden in a lower cabinet. However, the combination lock/dial was not that great of a quality so the safe was returned for replacement. Overstock was great with the replacement--sent out the replacement before the first safe was even returned.
I just purchased this product, and set it up. It's been below average temperatures in NY this time of year so I haven't fully utilized this fan yet. But I tested out all the features. The set up was super easy- though the instructions could be a little more clear (the screws are in the base already for safe keeping during transit/delivery, but it doesn't tell you that when they say screw the base into the bottom of the unit). I've gone through all the settings, the fan really is quiet in the first four, then you get the regular fan hum get louder and more noticeable on the top settings, but that's perfectly fine with me as long as it keeps me cool. Good for a small spacious room and keeps neatly tucked away in a corner. Edit one year later: So the fan still works- but it's not as powerful as last year. Also the button to up-the fan speed stopped working on the fan itself... Good thing that it has the remote. It's been 80+ degrees in NYC and this doesn't move the air around at all anymore. Lame.
I bought this one year ago. It is still humming along and creating very clean air and perfect amount of white noise to help me sleep in as I live in a very noisy urban area with tons of dirt dust and pollution. While considering a second purchase for another room, I looked up the EPA INFO ON INDOOR AIR FILTRATION SYSTEMS. This one is a winner as well as Honeywell models:HPA204C; HPA250B; 50250-S; 5025 -N; 50255-B; warning you must be careful when buying others and should investigate before purchase as higher (over 350) CADR numbers might indicate high levels of ozone output which is a known lung irritant. According to the EPA WEBSITE ... All Honeywell models are SAFE! Also pre-filters are very inexpensive as you get enough to replace several times in one box and you cut to fit so you can also use those filters in your forced air vents if living in apt complex.
