My husband and I are quite pleased with this addition to our beach house. I wanted a table that didn't take up much visual space and this knockoff a venerable 1948 original fits the bill. As you set up the base (which takes all of 2 minutes) you will note that it is wrapped with a sort of foil veneer to resemble expensive wood; however, I do not feel it looks cheap and, in fact, looks like the real thing to both of us. The glass top is thick and heavy. I did find one flaw: one edge of the glass top is not cut quite right - it is not a perfectly smooth oval - but I doubt anyone else will notice. We find the table to be stable enough for our purposes, but I would not use it (or any other glass top table this height) in a house where a toddler lives or visits.
