I was actually quite surprised by how lovely this dress is. I needed it for a school auction and I needed something that would be semi-formal but long. What? How do they think this up? This dress was perfect. I am 47 years old so don't want anything frilly, but I no longer look like a super model (if I ever did), so super fitted styles no longer work over the flabby bits. I slapped on a set of Spanx and was surprised how well this dress worked. I am 5'4" and the length was perfect. It was about an inch longer than the ground for me without shoes, and worked well with really any height of heel. I wasn't going to have time to shorten it so this was important. I wear a size 6, 8 or 10 dress, depending on the cut and the brand, and the size 8 was perfect. I have a kind of broad back (36C bra) but am kind of built straight up and down (size 4 to 6 pants). It worked for me even though my stomach is not flat and I did not get a back-fat muffin-top effect at the top of the dress. It would have been even better if my stomach WAS flat, but I can't think how to blame the dress for that. I would say that if you had a "curvy" body type, the bottom part might be a bit clingy and the neckline might show "the girls" a bit more than you might like. But it is slightly A-line, so it might be fine and the back is ruched which helps it fall nicely over the back end. I would say give it a shot!
