I bought a bunch of these to run projectors in classrooms at a small school. This solution was so much cheaper and easier than trying to run long VGA cables in the ceiling, and for this job the extenders work perfectly. I bought ten of these, and so far, all have functioned well. The only problem I have run into is with one teacher's laptop. Their VGA out port is covered, so this extender did not fit. I trimmed down the outer edge of the extender with a knife, and that allowed it to just barely fit. Take a good look at the picture of the extender and you can see the ridge around the plug. If this won't work for you, you can always get a cheap VGA Male-to-Female adapter, or even a Female-to-Female adapter and add a regular VGA cable to it. That's what I'm doing for this teacher.
