Raynette F. Review
I have had a chronic bad back for over 40 yrs and desperately needed a stool to use when I wash dishes or prepare food. I purchasesd this stool several months ago in black to go with my black and white kitchen. When it arrived I was pleased at the ease to put it together. Yes, it was missing a hole for one of the screws, but that was simple to fix. In less than 20 minutes it was out of the box, put together and sitting in front of my sink. I have a generous bottom and initially had a sinking feeling that I wouldn't fit in the seat comfortably. After sitting in the stool for a matter of seconds, I realized that would not be a problem. Not only did I fit, but I felt comfortable and supported. The stool has an ergonomic and contemporary design, yet fits in with my 84 yr old home's traditional decor. The height of the stool is not difficult at all to adjust. I especially like the fact that there is a place for me to rest my feet as I work at the counter. Several reviewers have commented about the fact that when one sits in the stool it lowers or drops down. It does do this. Nothing drastic. In fact, I find that it is helpful as it provides a soft air cushion that gently eases my back into position. The only time that the seat drop posed a problem has been when my back was in acute spasms-I would have to deal with the intense pain of the inital sitting in the stool and then the pain as the stool came to rest. But I wouldn't want to change the fact that the seat lowers as you sit in it, because fortunately my back isn't in spasms too often. The chrome base has retained its shine, as has the seat. The entire stool has been very easy to clean. I find the stool to be very stable and worth the price I paid, although I purchased it on sale. That is the reason I gave it four stars on value. I don't think I would have purchased it if it had been more expensive, but my mind may change if after a year of daily use it is still in good shape.
