Story Behind the Art:
- This rug design was re-created and woven by Bhadohi village weavers in Varanasi, India, based on a Moroccan Berber pattern and weave. The rug is handmade by women weavers in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, providing them with job opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have. Rug weaving also benefits local farmers who sell wool and local artisans who create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers. Due to the handmade nature of the rug, its size may vary by up to 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will help maintain its quality.
