Story Behind the Art:
This particular rug is the Oushak design but is made in the northern part of Afghanistan in the Mazar-e-Sharif region. The chemical composition of the dye is Heraty enough to withstand many years of use and washing. All-natural vegetable dye is an ecological alternative to chemical dyes because it is made up of roots, flower petals and tree bark. The colors reflect the natural surroundings of the region. This rug is 100-percent wool.
