- This rug is best used with a rug pad to prevent slipping, add cushioning, and improve durability. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a clean, white, dry sponge or cloth. A rug pad is highly recommended on all surfaces to prevent slipping and improve durability. Avoid placing directly over existing carpet as the color may transfer. For vacuuming, use a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar or one where you can set the bar to the highest pile setting. If your vacuum has variable power settings, set on low and vacuum the full length of the rug, turning and repeating to the next area rather than using a back and forth motion.
