A billiard table is an entertaining luxury for any home. Although pre-assembled billiard tables cut down on preparation time, billiard tables that require assembly are more common, due to issues with shipping and labor costs. Billiard-table assembly is not incredibly challenging and can be completed within a few hours. Billiard tables will include an owner's manual that may contain more model-specific assembly instructions. Follow them closely and you'll be playing billiards in no time.
Remove all parts from the billiard-table packaging. This will include the larger hardware making up the table and supports as well as smaller pieces, such as bolts, nuts and washers. The hardware will vary, based on your billiard table's model. Reference your owner's manual, included with your packaging, to check the inventory. Contact the manufacturer if any parts are missing.
Remove and unwrap any hardware needed for the billiard table leg-supports. Separate the leg-support hardware from the rest of the packaging. Unwrap all hardware, making sure to properly set aside smaller hardware so as not to lose anything. If the leg supports are not pre-assembled, connect any panels, tops or bases used to assemble the leg supports with bolts and nuts. Tighten nuts with a socket wrench. You may also need to install a leg rod through the center of the leg support and secure with a screw. Tighten this screw with an appropriately shaped screwdriver.
Remove the remainder of the billiard-table hardware from the packaging. Some table frames are pre-assembled, while other frames need to be assembled. If the table is not pre-assembled, attach any side panels, end panels or other framework with securing devices such as ankle brackets, bolts and nuts. Assemble any framework in such a way that the billiards table is sitting upside down on your floor. Tighten nuts with a socket wrench. You may also need to attach leg-mounting brackets in each corner of the table frame.
Attach the leg supports to the billiard table with bolts and nuts. One leg support will be attached to each corner of the table. Tighten any nuts with a socket wrench. Attach leg levelers to the bottom of the legs by screwing the threaded end of the leg leveler into the appropriate slot on the bottom of the leg.
Turn the billiard table over. It should now be standing on the leg supports in your recreation room. Get four adults to complete this step. The table will need to be lifted and placed on the ground so that all four leg supports contact the ground at the same time. Tipping the table over onto two legs is not a good idea because of excess pressure.
Attach the table top to the top of the billiard table framework. You may need to attach cross beams across the framework before attaching the table top. Secure any cross beams with bolts and nuts. Tighten the nuts with a socket wrench. Secure the table top with bolts and nuts coming from underneath the sides of the billiard table framework. Tighten nuts with a socket wrench. You may also need to install the plastic pocket covering with either screws or nails. Use either a hammer or a screwdriver to secure.
