  • not gold leaf

The elegance of the cranes, and the sharp contrast of the red sun makes this a handsome piece. However, the picture is on gold paper, not gold leaf. It does not reflect light with the luminosity of gold leaf. So, in a dim setting, where a candle would illuminate a true gold leaf screen, the background appears dull. This said, it fit the need for a large piece over a six foot mantle in our family room. It is complementary to the style of the real gold leaf screen hanging in the living room. As for hanging, purchasers can find screen hangers online. They will mount the piece unobtrusively, and provide stiffness against the panels bending.

  • Beautiful silk screen
    Verified Purchase

After spending several hours we finally managed to hang this very beautiful screen on our living room wall. (We have a very large room, 36 ft long) The panels are held together with silk fabric which could easily tear; we had to reinforce the 2 side panels with braces to keep them from spreading and/or ripping. You will definitely need 2 people and preferably a laser measure to get this up. I can't imagine anyone leaving this on the floor or even on a table; it is very, very delicate. Now that it's up, I'm very pleased with the final result but it did cost about 5 hours of my husband's and my time.
