  • Very different than picture

Rug quality seems fine (albeit hopefully just initial shedding), but rug is completely different than picture. Picture is very deceptive - real rug is Aztec, not oriental. Bright blue in picture is actually very dark navy color.

  • Wide variation in color

I searched high and low for a rug for our living room including several small independently owned Persian rug dealers and large retailers. All similar sized 100% wool, hand-knotted rugs I came across were at least twice as expensive as this one and I couldn't quite find a pattern/color combination that I loved enough to make it worth the price. As a last ditch effort, I figured I'd give this product from Overstock a try. The first rug I received was extremely soft, instantly laid flat, no shedding, no smell at all, and I was pretty happy. There were just a couple issues - a minor one that I am sure I could have lived with - the pattern was somewhat askew (the center medallion was longer on one side than the other). The more major issue was the color. It wasn't at all as depicted in the photo or description. Where the photo shows red, my rug was more of a raspberry pinkish hue, and where the photo shows blue, mine was jet black, with the lightest areas a vanilla cream color. But, since the other reviews described a navy and rust colored rug (which is what I was hoping for), I decided to give it one more try. Overstock sent us a second rug and the next one is completely different. The pattern is generally the same but this one is definitely navy (no black) and rust (no pink) with the lightest areas a dark tan sort of color. This second rug isn't quite as intricate as the first, or as soft, and it has a terrible musty smell. But, the pattern is more symmetrical and the color is perfect. I have it draped over a table outside to air it out. All in all, I would say that this rug isn't top quality, and you can't be sure of what you are going to get but if you have a little flexibility with colors or are willing to go through the trouble of returning it until you get one that is right for you,it is an excellent value for the money. I am happy with my purchase.

It is a nice rug. I'm annoyed that the blue isn't as bright or the red isn't as red. It's a rust color red, orange tones in it. The blue is darker more navy not the pretty bright blue in the picture. The picture is definitly different color than the one I received. Also, the rug is quite thin. It's not thick at all. But, it is soft. I still like it, It's still a nice rug. I wish it was red and blue and bright like the picture and not orangey and a bit faded looking.

This is a indo Heriz. It is a good quality carpet and the sizing was accurate. The knotts are not a tight as the persian carpets are however, it is definitely a good carpet. It was new which was important. We bought few rugs from overstock and this one and one other were the only new ones that arrived. If you are comparing to even the best carpets at Macy's, this one is a king in both aspects. However, if you know your carpet and have an eye for persian carpet please don't buy. For a indo Heriz this is perfect though. We put it in our bedroom, and its perfect. In this price range its hard to find that big a carpet for this quality...
