Just thick enough for brief workout on floor at fitness center, and rolls up compact. I use it for the 5-10 minute abs/buttocks floorwork during 40-55min Pound group class. I personally would want to take thicker mat to hour long Yoga or Pilates class.
I was not sure what to expect but when this arrived it was surprisingly heavy and durable. It was packaged well and arrived without any damage. The only improvement would have been a video or chart showing exercises that could be done on the board. Looking forward to adding this to my yoga regimen.
I have been using a yoga pad for years, but my bones are getting old and tired, so I decided to try this mat because it had some thickness to it...and it does!! It has just enough padding so that I don't feel as if I'm on the bare floor but not too much that I slip around when sweaty. I use it on my area rug, and it does not move at all. It is a thin, oriental rug, so that may make the difference. But I did read at least one review that said it slipped on her rug - that was NOT my experience. I highly recommend this exercise mat to anyone who does pilates, yoga, stretching...I even stand on it when doing resistance training! I'm putting it through its paces and its standing up well.
