This is a very small board with low volume. If you're an adult, this board is way too small and not floaty enough unless you are an expert, in which case you'll want a much better quality board anyway. I can use it as a long body board. It's OK for children, but as a beginner board the child should be less than 60 lbs in order to have enough floatation and stability for them to learn. My 67 lb daughter did quite well on a standard children's beginner board but really struggled with this board. It's so short she was either nose diving or sinking the back. The shortness makes proper body and foot positioning critical.
Assembly was more difficult than expected. The filling is shredded foam and filling that really needs to be broken up a bit, as it is very "solid" even after letting it "breathe" as directed. Orienting it into the colored bag is awkward, and we got it wrong the first time. Also tough to know how much air to inflate. Part of this is inflated, and part is just the foam, and it poofs around your head if there is too much air in it. Your whole body is pretty much out of the water on this, as shown in the pictures. All said, my daughter loved it, and there is room and float-ability for an adult and a child together.
