I bought this for use with an 80 pound fishing kayak. It seems to work pretty good when I take it to a low flowing river and in Lakes. However if there is a strong wind or a strong flow then it can be more of a challenge. I weigh about 220 pounds so with my dear we are probably pushing 350 pounds. Maybe a 30 pound thrust is not enough for me but I would still like to see a little bit more power. Still, it is quiet and works like a dream other than the slow pace that I will sometimes go. I would still recommend this product however I would be leery about using just 30 pounds for anything heavier than an 80-pound boat.
I should have bought one of these years ago.. helps with the arms and back.. so easy and so nice... The auto feature is great... I know I will be getting another as soon as the money allows me to for my other anchor in the rear of the boat.. Right now I have a crank. That's what I used to have I the front as well...Recommend this to everybody.. so damn nice..
