My wife bought this for my grandsons, ages 5 and 3. Son-in-law, brother-in-law and naturally myself put this thing together. All 3 of us are mechanically inclined having worked on cars, home remodeling, etc. Brother-in-law has built 2 homes so we felt comfortable building the playset. Playset came in several large boxes and reality set in when we opened the boxes and found what we thought were a thousand pieces of various sizes and shapes of wood, plus hardware. We did not take a full inventory before we started, This was too time consuming. We started; please read the instructions carefully. Boards were labeled very well. T-nuts were a good idea, but beware of orientation. This is important. We had a total of 42 man hours in the project (14 hours/person); a little more than a day and a half. We had up to 5 drills being used to expedite the work. We also had additional square bit drivers for the screws. Playset came with one, which is not enough. We also had sockets for the lag screws and bolts. We were short a few of the lag screws, but a quick trip to Home Depot solved that. We did not like the fact that screws, bolts, nuts, etc. came in several bags all mixed. I am assuming that these are arranged according to the various kits that can be added on. Would prefer to have different hardware separated and labeled. We separately worked on various sub projects except when 2 or more were required (i.e slide assembly and mounting). All the wood was included; we had no missing parts. We felt the quality was excellent. The pre-drilled holes were done very well. This playset is built extremely well. In short, no child is going to fall through and the swings are not going to break. This was a Christmas gift so we kept my grandsons away until it was finished. When the boys arrived, they were ecstatic and really blown away about having this in their backyard
We've had this dome for about a year now. It still looks brand new and the kids aren't bored with it at all. We've had 6 or so kids on it at once and it doesn't budge. I particularly like that it blends in so well with the natural outdoors... no primary colors! We had to take it apart to move into a new house, no problems at all. Awesome buy.
Personally I love wooden and natural toys. Kids need to know the world is not made of plastic. These are excellent for the little chef's kitchen and teaches proper nutrition. There is more food than chicken nuggets and mac'n'cheese. It maybe could use a few more veggies in the pack but you can (and I have) supplement with the M&D Vegetable playset.
