Althought this says 3 years and up, it must be for a random reason to do with safety perhaps? Nothing easily comes off, so no worries there. We haven't had an issue with it tipping, either. My son got this for his first Christmas when he was 10 months old. He is now 14 months old and still plays it several times a day. AND my 6 and 9 year old play with it, too! Neat thought: they play it because it's there, in the living room with all the toys. EVERY SINGLE TIME they start playing it, within minutes they have moved to our front room and they play the big real piano. So, it's a good thought - it inspires them to play the big piano. The countless keyboard toys we've owned over the years have NEVER had the same reaction. My son was a late sitter, late crawler and still isn't even close to walking. Although he recieves in home therapy, I'm not sure he qualifies as special needs, but he is delayed, and he loves the piano. It's not quiet, BUT it's also not an irritating sound that is too loud at all, not too high pitched, not irritating. Highly recommend this product. I see myself buying another bigger version in the future when my sons balance is good enough to sit on something unassisted. This is perfect size for a sitting infant/toddler.
The individual pictures are fantastic, but the stars projection does not look like constellations at all. I thought it would resemble a night sky..really just looks like white dots spinning around. The projector does have to be rather close to the ceiling for the pictures to be clear, like on top of the dresser or even a chest of drawers. All that said, my 7 year old son absolutely loves it.
This is a nice, big, colorful puzzle with plenty of visual detail to help little kids find the right pieces of the castle, dandelion field, sky. Our daughter (3) loves puzzles, and by the second time out of the box she was putting pieces together and verbalizing her process-- "let's find the froggy, where is the lady's nose?, this looks like a bridge", etc. The pieces fit together easily and come apart cleanly. The smarmy look on the deer's face cracks me up!
