Best wooden train set
This is the best wooden train set-- spoken by a mom with a 3 yo who loves trains. We got this when he was 1 1/2 years old (he was a little young for it at that time). He now plays with it daily. This is compatible with the other wooden trains and tracks out there like brio and thomas the train and ikea. But this set gives you the most for the money. In addition to tons of tracks, it includes trains and other accessories to get you going. It will actually initially seem to large for a very small toddler. You also need something large-- we use a clear box-- to store all the pieces. When my child was around 2 years old, he would knock the tracks apart a lot-- so we got these cheap plastic track connectors from amazon. Also, the bridge is a little tricky to keep together-- the plastic track connectors make it much easier to stay together. But now that he is 3, we don't need the track connectors (he knows not to step on top of the tracks or they will come apart). We only use them for the bridges now (or buy inexpensive bridges from ikea to add to this set). The quality of the set is superb, and the number of tracks and accessories allow you to put together a fantastic and exciting train configuration right out of the box. This is fantastic for little boys for hours of imaginative and wholesome play. I came back to buy this as a gift for my nephew and niece. Overstocks price on this is the very best that I have seen. And overstock's shipping price is so CHEAP for such a heavy heavy set. It also arrives super fast.
