Since this is a gravity stand, I won't have to drill holes in my rented property, always a plus, keeps the landlord happy and the bike is secure. And when I move, it moves with me.

Bought this for my daughter who has a 1 car garage and needed indoor storage for her bikes. She is very pleased with it and loves that there are no nails. Very stable.

This attaches to your garage wall at the top with a screw. It is surprising that it holds a heavy bike against the wall stably.

sturdy, simple, and does the job for two bike storage (tho sometimes I added extra wheels / frame and it still worked great!).

This product was poorly made. The screws didn't fit into the holes. After an hour of trying I just gave up. So I still need to buy a bike rack.

I was excited to get this item because I have a small apartment and needed to clear up some floor space (since I store my bikes inside). The set up was super easy. However, I was disappointed by the quality. The hands that are supposed to hold up the bike, do not hold their position well... and tend to slide down very slowly. My top bike actually fell once over night. Anyways, I was going to return it, but added some additional support (to try and stop the hands from sliding down)... and it appears to have worked. I would not recommend purchasing something like this online. Go to a bike shop and look at a few other options before buying.

Once put together the rack works great! the holes to put the screws in were too small.... after fighting it for a while, i drilled the holes out to make the screws fit. Piain to put together, but once up it's great!

It holds the bikes, but it's a little flimsy. I suggest attaching it to wall if there's any chance you'll bump into it or everything crashes down.

      • A:

Hello shoesandhandbags, With the The Art of Storage Michelangelo 2-bike Gravity Stand you should be able to adjust the arms to have the bike vertically. You should exercise caution if you intend to use it in such a way. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions. Thank you for shopping with us!

      • A:

        Yes, you can.

    • Q:

"How long are the arms onto which the bikes are placed? Also, when the rack is against the wall and the arms are extended perpendicular to the wall (that is in a way that the arms extend the farthest from the wall) what is the distance from the wall to the furthest point on the arm from the wall? I'm trying to figure out how much depth in space this will require. Thank you very much for your help!"

      • A:

The arms of the rack are 10(ten) inches long and when they are extended out all the way they are 12(twelve) inches from the wall for both bikes to be hung. Thank you for shopping Overstock.com.

      • A:

When the rack is against the wall, the arms extend to 13". When my road bike is on the upper rack, it extends out 19" from the wall (from the pedal to the wall).

    • Q:

"Will this bike rack fit a bike like* with the bar tilted?"

      • A:

It's not a very stable rack. The silicon cover of the "hands" is easily broken. If you have a garage, you can easily install a hook to hang up the bicycles. The handles of these racks fell off easily as well. Unless you live in an apartment, there is no point of buying this rack, not safe, not stable and difficult to use .

    • Q:

"Can this rack handle a "thick" framed bike such as a mountain bike?"

      • A:

Hello jaymullin, Yes this rack can handle a thick framed bike such as a mountain bike. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions. Thank you for shopping with us!

      • A:

Yes - my CX frame goes on fine. I put the heavier bike on bottom rung though and then my road bike on top.

    • Q:

"Is this bike rack safe if you have a two year old? How easily can it be pulled over?"

      • A:

Thank you for your interest in the The Art of Storage Michelangelo 2-bike Gravity Stand. I would not recommend having your 2 year old around this.

      • A:

I don't imagine a two year old could pull it over. It does come with a thing to attach it to the wall for extra safety though, so I would recommend doing that just to be safe.

      • A:

It has a optional attachment that you can screw to the wall. A two year old will not be tall enough to disturb this. Find something else to distract your two year old with! ; -)
