  • Big wood!
    Verified Purchase

This thing is big! This is a great deal and awesome little instrument to play around with. Has deep sounds and awesome look. The wood really is cool and nice grains running through it. Put a little teak oil on and now its a great piece for the living room also. I have absolutely no experience with this instrument and just thought it looked and sounded cool. Only downside is the beeswax mouth piece can be a little uncomfortable at times. A rubber one would feel a lot better but would ruin its all natural look. Also wished it came with a some instructions on how to play, or at least how to take care of it.

  • Happy Didger-Eee

Okay... so my husband and I went to Australia and in the Quay we got to hear the sounds of the Didgeridoos played by those "Dadgum Aboriginals" (I promise it's a term of endearment) anyway... everywhere we went they had Didgeridoos for sale and my husband kept admiring them. I thought "what a great gift for our upcoming anniversary". Yeah BUT $500 AUD's was RIDICULOUS. So...Overstock to the rescue. When I got home I found this one online. I couldn't believe the price and thought it must not be that great. It was inexpensive enough to just go ahead and try it out. SO I ordered it I JUST received this in the mail and it is AMAZING. Beautiful, well made (Teak wood is so fine and strong), and tall like the ones we saw in Australia. I can't believe the price and the item! What a beautiful piece. I recommend it because it looks even better than those we would have paid $500 for. As far as if it plays or not I am not sure But it looks like those that the Aborigines were playing so I would imagine it will do just fine! Thanks Overstock! My anniversary gift was made possible because of you.. Oh and shipping was really quick too!!

  • Not a real musical instrument. Only display piece.
    Verified Purchase

These are display pieces, they are not real didgeridoos. If you are looking for an instrument to display somewhere in your home these would be great. They look nice on the outside but are completely unfinished on the inside. making it impossible to get even a descent sound out of them. I worked hard to refinish the inside and now it sounds halfway descent. If you want a real hardwood didgeridoo that has good sound quality you are going to have to drop at least $200...I highly recommend PVC pipe if you want to learn to play.

  • Great Piece for the Collection
    Verified Purchase

As a collector of unique musical instruments, my boyfriend is often trouble to shop for. This piece made a great addition to his collection. The wood body of the instrument and blemish free and would make a great place to display stickers or artwork (but is beautiful alone). It looks great displayed with our other instruments. With a little work, he was playing it with no problem and it sounds great. A little FYI, the beeswax mouthpiece will start to melt in heat, we reallzed this after taking the didg to a sunny picnic but were able to save it.

  • Started 3 stars, but now 5

I've loved the didgeridoo for a while and had only owned a PVC didge I made myself. The PVC was actually quite decent sounding, but definitely didn't look authentic. After much time searching the internet for a reasonably priced decent didge, I decided on this one. Out of the box, it looks great; however, the sound produced isn't very good, mainly due to the poor quality hollowing performed on the wood. The technique left the inside rough and too porous. So, I sanded down what I could and then used a can of spray lacquer to coat the inside and outside a few times. Now, the outside looks even nicer and because the inside now has a smooth, hard, uniform finish, the sound produced is louder and has very nice tone. I am please with this didge, but only because of my modifications.
