The machine itself is great and fairly easy to assemble. In fact, all that was needed to do was add 4 rubber feet (required screws can be found in the rubber feet ), 2 plastic wheels (each taking 3 washers and a nut) and then insert the foam shoulder pads (the pads just drop right in). Assembly can be done with the provided tool. I assembled this myself and I am not at all handy or good at building things. My suggestion is to get some help getting it out of the box, after that, it's not bad. The instructions are not the best or the worst. If you are not good at reading diagrams, you might want another person to assist, though there is text instructions next to the diagram. A word of caution, be very careful when taking the machine out of the box. The machine is folded in half for shipping purposes, so it is easy to pinch your fingers when removing it from the box (it's heavy). Other than that, assembly was great. The machine is heavy, giving it a solid feeling. There were a few "issues" with it though, that had nothing to do with the quality of the product. First, the Overstock description does not completely match what you are getting. The description says you are getting "molded hand grips" and mine came with foam grips. After reading reviews of this product, some people loved the molded grips and others preferred foam grips (there are pro's and con's to both types). Additionally, the photo shows the machine pictured with the upgraded head rest, which is sold separately. So, I was disappointed when I did not find the upgraded version in the box. After reading the description closely, it does state: "Padded, adjustable head rest," which is what it came with. Anyway, Overstock either needs to change the photo to reflect these differences or ship a product consistent with the description and photo. Also, the wood foot board was cracked when I unpacked it. I am not sure if this is the fault of the manufacturer or Overstock though (recently, I had a dining set shipped to me from Overstock, which was damaged as well). Fortunately, the wood is cosmetic, so being cracked should not be an issue. I didn't want to send it back just for that.
