    • One of the best all-around activities for cardiovascular fitness and strength
    • One of the most effective aerobic exercises for increasing your metabolism for more efficient calorie and fat burning without the impact on your joints
    • Stamina 1215 Rower has full range-of-motion rowing for a truer rowing motion that mimics rowing on the water with a padded seat that glides on a ball bearing roller system, rowing arms with adjustable resistance, and foam grips that keep hands stable and comfortable
    • Compact and portable, with a footprint of only 32.5 inches x 48 inches and weight of 47 pounds, yet is well-made for years of strength and aerobic training
    • Multifunctional fitness monitor keeps you motivated and on track to reach your fitness goals showing speed, distance, time, stroke count, and calories burned during your workout
    • Continuous, non-impact movement of rowing can be broken down into three phases: the starting point is called the catch phase, followed by the drive phase, the finish, and recovery
    • In the catch phase, knees are bent with shins vertical and shoulders and arms reaching forward, mimicking the point where the oars are being placed in the water
    • The drive phase is initiated by the legs extending, and arms remain straight until the knees are mostly extended, then the elbows flex bringing the oar handles into the upper stomach
    • In the finish, the legs are fully extended, shoulders are back, elbows are flexed, and the oar handle is against the upper stomach
    • For the recovery, the knees don't flex until after the hands pass over knees as the arms and shoulder reach forward

read alot of reviews that mentioned incomplete or just plain bad instructions. to be honest, i hardly needed the instructions at all. the only time i referenced them was to confirm, when completed, that the few nots and washer i had remaining werent missed somewhere (they werent !). the machine is ad advertised and easy to use. it has plent of range of motion for fully extending my legs, which was one concern. it is quiet, relatively comfortable (seat could be alittle cushier...) and definitely provides a workout. i would generally recommend this for anyone who wants that mostly full body cardiovascular workout that doesnt strain the joints. the not so great points..... the resistance producting shocks are way, way too resistant, even on the easiest/lowest setting. they also dont begin to produce resistance until halfway through the stroke, because the shock/piston is moving so little. i would strongly recommend to the manufacturer that they come up with a shorter throw shock with more evenly distributed and sooner producing resistance. the display is the weakest link here. it sits at a bad angle for the easiest viewing. it doesnt accurately count strokes/cycles (actually nearly doubles the count !!) and for me, displays some rather useless info, like distance, etc... it is also very easy to bump and knock loose. recommendations..... better , quicker engaging shock/resistance better angled display that accurately counts strokes greater incline, to better excercise legs.... liked this unit alot though. going to see if i can improve the shocks myself.

    • Not worth it
      Verified Purchase

Rowing is such great exercise and I had hoped to get that with this unit. Unfortunately that was not the case. The connector to the rowing arm kept sliding down no matter how tightly I adjusted. So I would work up a good clip only to have to stop to adjust the arm. It is a heavy piece of equipment constructed well with the exception of the arm..and it was one. Could have been a defect on the unit I received.

    • Fine for the price

Was reasonably easy to put together and use. If I was going to do some serious rowing I would buy a more expensive machine I only bought for occasional use

I am new at rowing. As far as now, I like it, It kicks butt. It did not tame me long to put it together, Nothing was missing, I bought it on here because it did not cost me more than 2 Dollar Shipping, as were other sides wanted over $100 Dollar shipping. I also love Overstock because so many times when I returned stuff it cost me nothing and on a heavy thing like this it would be pricey. So go get ti. Its worse it.

I workout 15-20 minutes 3-4 times a week on this. Have noticed some toning of the arms and shoulders within a month. I am 5'9 and have long legs, I have plenty of leg room. My husband is 6'2, 240 pounds and can use this machine too. I wish there was more resistance for the legs, such as the seat sliding up and down. You can achieve a very good upperbody and abdominal workout with this machine. You can adjust the arm resistance nicely. It took me about 1-2 hours to put together, I took my time. Directions were clear, I am a direction follower! Overall a good investment! Just make yourself use it! It will work. I have to really push myself to stay on 15-20min.

    • So far, so good.
      Verified Purchase

So far, it's a good product. It's a pretty lengthy product to put together, so set aside about two hours for construction. I did have to use a rotary tool to resize one of the holes so the last bold could fit properly, so that took an extra 15 minutes. After it was constructed, it works fine. I store it behind my TV stand when not in use. I use it 3-5 times a week, and it does give you a good workout. I'm glad I bought it, because it works the arms, legs, core and back all at the same time. For a small apartment (like mine), it's a good piece of equipment to have.

    • Exactly what I wanted.
      Verified Purchase

Rower was exactly what I wanted. I watch TV while exercising so i do not care about electronics or monitors. Rower is very smooth and with lots of available tension if needed. If anything I would like it to go back about two additional inches (I am 6ft tall) for full extension.

    • Good workout that I can stick with!
      Verified Purchase

I'm really pleased with this rowing machine. I'm a strong girl, but I'm out of shape, so I have the arms set to the lowest setting. BUT, I can stick with this exercise long enough to raise my heart rate and get a good workout, which is priceless. You can leave the rower parallel to the ground for a good ab workout (as you have to pull yourself back to the starting point) or raise it up to a slant which gives your legs the workout of pushing. The movement of the arms is smooth and easy. It's VERY quiet and I easily row while watching TV. I'm satisifed with my purchase. Good value for the money, definitely.
