Both my husband and I like this rower. He said its comparable to the one he uses at the gym, and in some ways even better. I like it, too. I get a good workout on my legs, shoulders and back - plus it forces me to have good posture! I am 5'4" and my husband is 6' and it works equally well for us both. It wasn't difficult to put together - a couple girlfriends and some wine and we had it done in an hour!
As a beginner to rowing I wanted something fairly quiet and easy to use. This machine is easy to move around if needed, easy to use and the readout for calories, time, etc. is adequate for me. I have a hard time keeping my feet positioned on the foot pads but I believe I just need to continue getting used to it. It's a nice rower!
This is my second Stamina 1205. I row an hour every day and after many years, I literally wore out my first one. This unit has a fairly small footprint when you lean it against a wall. I put white crew socks on the black rubber base ends so it leaves no mark on the wall. The electronics are fairly straight forward for those who like to use same. I simply time myself. The seat rolls easily on the track. The tension is adjustable on the rowing bars. I keep mine in the bedroom close to the TV. If I am watching something interesting, I can row for an hour or so. I concentrate bending my old knees to increase flexibility / range of motion. I like the oars of this style better than those higher priced models with a T bar handle that is centered and you just pull it. This is more like real rowing. Not expensive, tough, portable, small footprint, quiet, and provides a great workout.
