The view is quite clear and bright. Comfortable in your hand and compact enough to store easily. Usefulness is the main reason for the tool, that's where it fails. The magnification make it nearly impossible to stay still enough to read the yardage.
As long as you are playing on a course with 7' tall flags, you will be fine. Just concentrate on light breathing when using it. However, once you go to an 8' flag course, all bets are off. I can't make it anywhere near accurate at 8' courses. The manual gives you some ridiculous formula to use.
My son is a master caddy in North Carolina at Pinehurst. Someone had stolen his previous range finder and he has to have one for his job. These are quite expensive but when I found this, I thought it was worth a try for the price and he's glad I did. It is very user friendly and quite accurate. The size is perfect and he's very happy with it.
