I know the box says 8 years and up ... but I bought this for my 4 (almost 5 year old)... and he likes it. It's challenging. You have to go full speed to make the loop but need to slow down to make the turns. If you can't handle it, then the car flies off the track and across the room. But my husband assures me that's all part of the fun and that is why it is labeled for 8 and up. My son has had it a week now and he can go around the track about 4 times before he flies off. Took me about 20 mins to click all the track together. its about 3 ft long and 1.5 wide when its assembled. Sturdy pieces. I think its a great deal for the price. Everything I found in the toy stores like this was listed around $100. So I feel like its a good deal. I would recommend it.
The track on the loops comes apart about every 15 mins of use. The metal track actually comes apart from the plastic. My son is 5 and loves it, but after a couple days it will probably be garbage before Christmas day
This set is actually made by a company called, "Golden Bright". Bought this AND another, larger set from GB for 58+ feet of total track. WOW, we and our 4yo granddaughter love it! Using a bunch of the straight track for a 7' x 4' oval and it is perfect for early exposure to slot cars. Great fun for the experienced as well! Easy setup and super-fast cars with bright, working headlights. Have a bunch of extra track, loops and accessories for later use, too. Again, PERFECT!
