I know the box says 8 years and up ... but I bought this for my 4 (almost 5 year old)... and he likes it. It's challenging. You have to go full speed to make the loop but need to slow down to make the turns. If you can't handle it, then the car flies off the track and across the room. But my husband assures me that's all part of the fun and that is why it is labeled for 8 and up. My son has had it a week now and he can go around the track about 4 times before he flies off. Took me about 20 mins to click all the track together. its about 3 ft long and 1.5 wide when its assembled. Sturdy pieces. I think its a great deal for the price. Everything I found in the toy stores like this was listed around $100. So I feel like its a good deal. I would recommend it.
This was a Christmas present for my 5 year old grandson. He loves it. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because at first, one car always won. After my son adjusted the bottom of the cars where they get power from the track, it helped considerably. Unless you are savvy enough to do this, the inequity could be a problem. Also, for a child who is young, it requires an adult to assemble the track. I still would recommend this race track for beginner level racers.
