I gave this to my granddaughter, who is 3 years old and usually too busy running or climbing to play with anything that requires her to sit down. She was excited when she saw the cookies and baking sheet. She immediately took the toppings on and off the cookies and served some to her father. The toppings have a little velcro circle which secures them to the cookies. The baking sheet also has velcro circles to keep the cookies from sliding around--this is a good idea. There is also a little potholder and spatula. I almost gave only four stars because it's hard to "slice" the cookies off the roll with the plastic knife--the cookies stick together firmly and there's not much space to wedge the knife in. With this one exception, it's easy for a child to handle and provides enough to do with just "baking" and decorating the cookies. Oh--the cookies are made of sturdy wood. All in all this is a very cute pretend toy. And who doesn't like to bake cookies?
We recently got this and our daughter loves to pretend fish with it with it. It's great for her to practice her aim and it helps her to understand what it means to concentrate to get an object not with her actual hands. As a parent I personally love the container it comes with. The containers very durable and we have put her other "fishing" stuff in there as well.
My 2.5yr old son loves this toy! First of all, the packaging is so cute. Everything fits and is stored in a sturdy tackle box that my son loves carrying around the house. The fishing vest that comes with the toy is well-made and has a lot of pockets to hold the play worms and other little things my son likes to carry around with him (toy cars, tools, rocks, etc). All three sizes of fish are sturdy and have strong magnets inside them, so it really stays held onto the fishing line when "caught". The fish can even be put in water to catch and it works great. We played with it in the bathtub the other night and my son was thrilled! Not only is it a great pretend/role playing toy, but we've also been playing games with it to teach him about sizes (small, medium, large) using the different sized fish. Highly recommend!
