My family received the Design & Drill Power Tool Workshop as a gift and I would recommend it to others with children interested in tools and design. PROS * All the parts store neatly in the case. * Good for both boys and girls * As long as the bolts aren't over tightened, it's easy to spin them in and out of the white board. This is great for parents who may want to put the toy away quickly. My 5, 8, and 10 year old actually played with this toy a bit before I installed batteries and had fun doing so. * Although the instructions say to NOT use rechargeable batteries, we were able to use this product successfully with rechargeable batteries. * With two "power" tools, kids can use this toy simultaneously with minimal bickering. * While this product is targeted for a younger audience (ages 3-6), my children from 5 years old to teenagers had fun making their own patterns on the activity board. * Although 19 different patterns are included in the booklet, Educational Insights encourages parents to let the child play freely with the tools and bolts. This allows the child to create their own pattern, picture, or just randomly screw in the bolts. Younger children may not be be interested in creating pictures but they can have a lot of fun learning how the power and manual tools operate. * Includes 100 bolts and 20 fun shaped bolts in five different bright colors. * I think this is a great introductory product to something like E.I.'s Design & Drill Power Play Vehicle sets CONS * Both the Power Screwdriver and Power Drill require 3 AA batteries EACH. * The description doesn't mention a socket bit but there is a picture of one in the instruction booklet. That would be a welcome addition to this set. There is a manual socket wrench though. * If any of the bolts are in the activity board, the storage case can't be properly stored. It can be quite tedious and time consuming to undo a child's creation just to put it away. Some kids are also very sad that their creation
My children love this ramp! The stop n go light is great for a race. The kids like sending cars down the spiral ramp. It was easy to put together and very well built.
