The Plano gun case is a really nice case for your valuable $$$ A/ R Type guns. It does just what they say . It will protect your weapon from jarring, keep out dust , dirt & water. It recently got itself rained on & when I opened it the gun & other goodies were nice & dry The pluckable foam is a really nice feature ,it holds the weapon snugly& allows you to closely fit almost any size acc. into the case w/o worry of it slamming around while transporting.Just keep in mind of future acc. you might want to put in there or on your gun ( flash supp, etc.) You may want to opt. for the larger case. I really like the one I've got , no problems so far . I use this case a lot & highly recommend for the serious gun enthusiast. the guy that barked about the pressure valve is just a bit toooo serious , Unless you're a Navy Seal or sniper on a mission.... this case is just fine for the average Joe or Josephine taking your toy to the range.

Looks nice, poorly made...
I have owned many Pelicans over the years, but decided to get something lighter to hold my expensive target 22 rifle. After reading the description & the single review, I decided to save just under a hundred & get the plano gun guard. As always, overstock.com's shipping was unbelievably fast. Upon inspection of the product... it looks beautiful. However, the plastic is too thin. As a result, the case appears to be slightly warped which compromises the sealing integrity. Close the lid & you can visually see that the case does not close evenly tight. A simple push on the case & you will hear a "whooshing" sound -- the sound of air exiting from gaps on all 4 sides. Ironically, there is a "purge" valve in case your case gets stuck in the closed position. Honestly, it's as water/weather tight as using a minivan as a submarine. If you need weather tightness, look elsewhere -- go straight to pelican. If you realize that you are buying a flimsy plastic case (& don't need weather tightness), you will be happy with this case. Nice design, poor execution.

Best Case for the $$
This case easily rivals Storm and Pelican quality for storage purposes. Have not tried traveling or shipping the case, but I suspect it would hold up reasonably well. The fact that it comes with the packing foam, and has locking brackets has been a fantastic asset as well. Would absolutely recommend this case to the weekend shooter or hunter who needs storage, but doesn't want to break the bank in the process.
