I have been a die hard Titleist player since their introduction. I have occasionally tried different balls, but always came back the the ProV1. Of late, I have had to switch to a yellow ball because it as become increasingly difficult to track the flight of a white ball and I started playing the NXT balls. I could see the ball again, but the performance was lacking. It was suggested by a playing partner to try the Chrome Soft Yellow and I have not stopped grinning since. Surprisingly long off the driver, but very controllable off the irons and the control around the green is exceptional. And I love the feel off my 30 year old Bettinardi putter that was made in the era of wound balls and suffered with the newer, 'clicker' balls. It's now back in the bag full time. The fact that these are $20 cheaper than Titleist is just icing on the cake. I hope Callaway makes this ball for a very long time.
I received a prototype of this ball from my rep and took it out on the course and was VERY pleasantly surprised. After hitting the SR3 for a season, this ball exploded off the face without the vibration I was used to. Distance was everything I was used to and feel on the greens was superb. Where I judge a golf ball is on the little finesse pitch shot, and this one aced the test! Excited for 2015!
Bought s sleeve to try, after bouncing between Supersoft in the Winter, Titleist NXT Tour S and Bridgestone RX 330. Great price and performance. Looks like the new ball in the bag.
I decided to test this ball because of the hype and wanting a softer ball for the cold months. It's a good ball, great even for mid-short irons. I, personally, cannot putt on it to save my life. It's so soft one have to swing the putter harder to get through the first layer(s) and get it rolling. Same with chips, it comes off the club like a hacky sack. There may have been a small loss in distance with the longer clubs; driver, woods, and hybrids but nothing too noticeable. Accuracy was great with all clubs on full shots!! I'm going back to the SR2. I need my ball to click and spring off my putter.
