I have several Barska products and find all of them to be of excellent quality. They are not necessarily "inexpensive", but they are affordable and provide excellent value for the money. There are certainly many optics available, at much higher prices, but is it always necessary to purchase something because of its higher price? Doesn't necessarily make it any better, just more costly.
While clearly a mid to low range quality scope, it did return acceptable images and who can complain about the price?. My only complaint would be the narrow depth of field, but even this is not reallly all that bad. I clearly wont be returning it and will keep it for the use I bought it for. I also would have paid for a decent storage box (it comes in styrofoam/cardboard boxing). ***
I bought this to replace an inexpensive one I bought for my grandchildren, to build an enthusiam for science. This scope is fully capable for college level work and will serve us for many years. Since the lens cannot touch the platform, I do not have to worry about the chldren breakng the lens. Thanks for offering great products at competitive prices!
The view is a little fuzzy at 40x magnification but for 35 bucks it's not bad. I am not going to nitpick on that and I would recommend if you are not willing to pay hundreds for a spotting scope that you will use occasionally.
