I had looked at several models of tables before selecting this model. For the price, brand and durability, this product seemed to offer me the most. The product is well made with quality stiching, welding, and craftmanship. I was surprised at just how heavily made the appliance was when it arrived. The assembly was rather easy and fast with clear instructions and organized part labels and bags. Some reviews pointed out how this product was comfortable to use on your ankles when hanging upside down. I think a key to the comfort is relaxing your ankles when inverted and trusting the machine to do what it was designed to do. The ankle pads are quite comfortable, if you remember to relax your ankles and point your toes to the sky when hanging upside down. My chiropractor had told me that the machine would serve well to release the locking discs that I have in my lower back. Since using the machine, the pain in my back and the irritation of the nerves, which would become numb or pinched from the locking discs, has virtually gone away for me. I notice I even sleep better. Naturally you would consult your doctor before using such a product to assure it is meant for you as well. The main red flag for 2 stars on safety for this product was the box used for shipping. The box was marked as a heavy item for lifting, but one still has to move the box to the location appropriate for assembly. The highly cumbersome, 90 some pound box had no handles built into it and the slippery, heavy cardboard was a challenge considering I live alone. Perhaps I could have opened the box at the delivery point and carried in the pieces a few at a time. If the delivery would have happened on a rainy day, I would have had a large, heavy mess to deal with...There were a few holes in the cardboard from the box being dragged, dropped or thrown during transit.... luckily no parts were lost. Overall, the product is awesome, but keep in mind the size of the unit is large to do the job it needs to do. A heavy and sturdy appliance mean quality, just plan for the box when it arrives. A solid and great buy for the average or bigger guy.... I wouldnt give mine up for anything... :)
I put this thing together in about 30-45 minutes. It's really well built and very sturdy. It folds up and stores away nicely as well. It is pretty heavy (about 80-90 lbs) and a little awkward to move, but overall, the construction and sturdiness of this thing is top notch. After I got it together I started playing around with it to find the balance point for my height and weight and found that it worked best if I set it an inch taller than what I actually am. I can lay back on the table and slowly raise my arms to invert at a controlled pace without feeling like I'm on an amusement park ride. Once I got used to it I set it up ti tilt back at about a 45 degree angle and the next morning I woke up feeling better than I have in months. If you back is hurting, this will help relieve a lot of pain, although it isn't immediate relief. I find if I use it at night, I wake up with less back pain than I used to. I had a stabbing pain in my back between my shoulders that was there for months and after a few weeks of use that pain is almost non existent. I have recently tried going fully inverted and it has helped relieve a lot of tension in my lower back as well. The ankle holders are well padded, but they still take a little getting used to. The key is to relax and just let it hold you like it is designed to do. You can wiggle your feet to get the front ankle cuffs to a more comfortable angle, but I definitely recommend wearing socks or pants until you get used to the feeling. I was skeptical of buying this table because of the lower price compared to other tables, but after tons of research decided that this was the one and it has been the best *** dollars I have ever spent.
This inversion table is top quality. Super sturdy frame with rubber cushions on bottom four corners that prevent it from moving around while in use. The table itself has a sufficiently padded surface that doesn’t collapse under your body weight and the covering is of a durable quality material that doesn’t stretch while one is moving around on it. Thickly padded rails are quite comfortable on the hands. The ankle supports are adjustable and about as comfortable as you can get. I have actually used several other brand inversion tables over the past few years owned by other people, including a Teeter Hangups, and none could compare with my Ironman 4000 in quality, durability, and comfort.
We are all pleased with the Ironman Gravity 4000! It is sturdy, safe and very comfortable. I was concerned with the ankle holds as I have never used this style before. They are great even with bare feet. It adjusts easily enough to where our 9 and 10 year olds can adjust and use the table also. We researched for awhile before settling on this table. The memory foam back was worth the investment. There is no reason this table will meet our needs for as long as we will need it! We all feel great with no regrets!
I tried my table a couple of days after I got it. It was strange to be upside down, but I felt secure whith the ankle supports. I've kept it open because it looks like I would hurt my back trying to open and close it every time. I did feel really good relief on all parts starting on my knees, hips, lower back, even neck. I had lower back pain for a long time. The first day I used it, the pain was gone. Sure I felt a little sore because it obviously causes a stretching of joints and muscles. But after that was gone I felt no pain. My right hip was also giving me trouble. The chiropractor would have problems setting it in place. Some times I couldn't even get up from sitting without it hurting so bad that I couldn't walk. This pain is gone since I've used it. It's worth the investment. I don't feel like going to the chiropractor so the table has paid for itself. I do kettlebells workouts, some times with 50 lb weights, and that would tighten up the muscles on my back. (I'm only 115 lb). I can jump right on after a work out and stretch like I could never do with any normal stretching routine. Definitely would recommend it.
This was easy to assemble. It is exactly what we were looking for.The only tools needed came with the IronMan Gravity 4000 inversion table. This inversion table is easy to use and is very sturdy. It can be adjusted to fit the height of whoever may be using it. Adjusting is easy to do and can be done in seconds. I took my time to look at different inversion tables and reviews before purchasing. I chose this inversion table because it seemed to be the most well built of all the inversion tables. I wanted it to last for a long time. I have only had it for a couple of days, but so far I am glad I made this choice.
A Doctor recommended using an inversion table. At first, I was hesitant thinking it might be difficult to use.; perhaps hard to get on and off of and so on. The Ironman Gravity Inversion Table is sturdy. Getting into it is simple. As a matter of fact, the ankle cushioning makes this more comfortable than the one at our local physical therapy center. It has non-slip feet and feels stable and secure whether you are getting on or off. It has three different inversion angles which you can select / adjust. It's great for someone more athletic than I. My better half uses it for sit ups. He's on his way to 6-pack abs. (I just hang upside down like a bat and do a few exercises.) I am glad I bought this.
I have never owned an inversion table before so I can't compare it to others. But this one is very solidly built and doesn't flex or move when I get on or invert. Nice thick rubber feet protect my floor. Good looking power coat on the steel components, Table is comfortable, Inverting is smooth. I can't seem to return without grabbing the handles and giving a small "boost" to get it started however. I like the ratchet style ankle clamp. It works very easy and seems solid as well. No fear of that letting go. I'm 5'8" and wound up setting it to 5'11" to get the balance right. And yes, It is helping my bad back feel better.
I'm a 56-year-old woman who had never heard of or seen an inversion table until two days before I ordered one. I have purchased products within the past month aimed at making a "home Physical Therapy" room for myself, rather than a home-gym. I believe already that if I had purchased the inversion table alone, I would have bought all I need. The relief from the reverse gravity is...unbelievable. Although I was so nervous (and still am) inverting, and although I would never think of inverting totally, I found myself yawning as if ready for a nap on my very first inversion. I suppose it's the infusion of blood to a head that suffers from vertigo, but nothing--no exercise, no pill, no massager--has provided the relief that this Ironman has. HOWEVER: I'm concerned about the ankle supports. While I think anxiety about the supports is natural, I have experienced what I'll describe as "wiggling" the further I invert. This of course is natural, and a review above states that you should point your toes (rather than clench them in abject terror :). But even for those who are understandably afraid, the wiggling is the cause of some slight concern for me. That said, the wiggle isn't nearly discomforting enough to prevent a 45-degree inversion. I have gone to a 60-degree angle and frankly don't feel comfortable at that degree. First, I found that my head was sliding off the top of the unit. I subsequently raised the height-scale two full inches. (I'm 5'6"-and-a-quarter, and I raised it to 5'8").
I purchased this for my husband in hopes of helping the pain in his back. He works out at the gym 5 days a week and always comes home with a back ache or sore muscles. He loves the ease of using this alone, no help is needed. The rubber "cups" that hold your ankles can feel a bit uncomfortable, but it's locked in place to keep you hanging in place, so not a huge deal. Would recommend this product to anyone needing adjustments, or a good stretch!
I have had back problems for 15 years. I hurt my back when I was in the Army, they refused to do anything for it at all when I was in, and after I got out the Veterans Affairs only wanted to do surgery. I was diagnosed with everything from a pulled muscle to degenerative disc disease. I went to a physical therapist for 6 weeks with no improvements. On the 6th week I asked her to try traction. After 10 minutes of traction I was 100% pain free. This lasted for about a week and then everything went back to the way it was before the traction. 2 years later I went to a chiropractor, spent 4 months with bi-weekly visits, and only had minor reduction in pain and minor mobility gain, but still an improvement. I then began looking into inversion therapy. I was hesitant to buy a table due to the cost and it might not be a viable solution to my problem, but eventually I broke down when I found this table at a great price here. I recieved this table on April 9, 2013. I have been using it daily for over two weeks now, and I can honestly say that I have regained FULL mobility and am 100% pain free. From the first time I laid back on this table I could feel the pain in my lower back, hips and legs slowly ebb away. Next week I will start going to the gym to rebuild the strength I have lost over the years, and I will continue to use my inversion table to relieve the pressure in my lower back, hips and legs as needed. Not everyone may have the same results as I did with inversion therapy, but for me, this is the best investment I have ever made, and I would recommend it to anyone that does have any heart or blood pressure related issues, or and serious eye related issues, if they have lower back pain of any kind.
very pleased with the Ironman Gravity 4000. It is everything I expected. Looking forward to using on a daily basis to relieve stress on spine.
It was fairly easy to assemble with tools provided. We do recommend set it for height slightly higher than your height so it is easier to invert. The feet-holders are very solid and easy enough to disengage. Until we are more comfortable using it I set the strap to minimal inversion, that can be extended anytime.
This is so much better designed than a gravity inversion table I had previously (15-30 years ago) which my husband discarded because he feared it might fail and injure me severely. It has nicely padded adjustable ankle locking and the degree of inversion is also adjustable with an included safety strap. The table itself is well padded and has an adjustable lumbar support built it. I'm quite happy with it.
I have lower back pain, L4 & L5 -plus pinched (tiny) sensory nerve. Needed help bad! After A LOT of research settled on this Ironman 4000! I'm a 57 yr old woman. Assembled this by myself- -?no problem? in less than an hour. Was extremely excited & couldn't wait to use it! I'm strict on following directions, so I did with this- adjust ?to MY height? for optimum balance! WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! I measured myself to be sure of my height knowing I had been losing height the last few years. When I set the boom to the height for me (59? oy!) It was extremely hard to get on this table. I am overweight also. With ?GREAT difficulty,? I did get up on the foot rest- & went back. The pull on my arms and shoulders were tremendous! I?ve had shoulder (rotator cuff & AC joint surgery) so was highly concerned I was harming my shoulders and arms. It was ?very uncomfortable!?Immediately I wanted to get rid of this table!!! The next day my son-in-law came over and discovered that I needed to adjust the point of balance WHICH WAS NOT THE HEIGHT I AM- but 3 inches taller! So please do not follow the directions enclosed!NOW, I LOVE IT! I can?t begin to express the relief and the comfort it has given me in the last week! It is awesome! I first knew as a newbie to only invert to a horizontal position and stay that for at least a few to 5 minutes. I did this for the first couple of days (using twice a day) now I can go the full 90o AND raise my arms above my head- completely taking all strain off the arms. With the height adjusted taller there is very little strain on the arms and really none on my shoulders. Just some on the hands as I hold on. Going all the way back- there?s NONE & I can feel the spine gently stretching out & it is THE BEST FEELING! I?m glad I didn?t go on Craig?s List right off the bat to get rid of this! It IS wonderful but adjust it to your preference not what they tell you in the directions!
This IronMan gravity chair is well made and very sturdy. I weigh around 135 pounds and it's built to carry much more weight. I feel secure and safe using it. My back is in terrible shape from all the years of lifting too much weight and the IronMan gives me relief.
Read and reviewed quite a few inversion tables before purchasing the IronMan brand. The table is very comfortable. It's extremely sturdy. The Large rubber feet holds it in place and gives it a solid feel. I haven't noticed any discomfort on my ankles. Setup was a breeze approx. 30-40 Min alone! It's been a real help on my wife's lower back. I did notice so relief to my back lower back as well and much better movement. I have upper neck pain so the jury is still out on that one. All in all spent about $100 less than the teter totter and have no regrets.
My chiropractor retired and I needed help. My job is seated at a computer, so I have frequent backaches & headaches from tension just from work position. I bought this table based on reviews on several sites. I've had it for 2 months and am very glad. I probably use it 5-8 minutes 3-4 days a week in the evening. It relaxes those stressed muscles. My 19 year old son works on concrete floor and has weak ankles. He uses it and says his feet and legs don't ache as much. My boyfriend has lower back pain, it has relieved most of that. I had to buy one for my brother's birthday because he used mine and fell in love ..... he's had back pain for over 35 years due to a broken back in a car wreck years ago. YOU WON'T BE SORRY.
I absolutely love this inversion table. It's extremely stable and very easy to put together. It adjusts to fit any height and also adjusts for the level of inversion that you want. Highly recommend!
I read all the other reviews and was a little skeptical about the machine. I have Lumbar arthritis and general pain in my lower back and legs. I find the table must be set taller than you actually are and it won't return to the upright position without you actually pulling it upright. Having said that, I thought it was worth a try, The first couple of times you use it, you will be in pain. Don't try to go all the way over and don't use your whole weight. Work up to it and remember to come back to the upright position slowly. I can now go fully inverted, don't feel light headed, and the back pain is better. I need to make time for at least 20 minutes 2 times a day upside down. I would recommend it if you have some kind of disc damage. I'm 59 and didn't ever meet anything too heavy to lift. Now, I'm paying for it. The table seems to be helping. Only had it about 3 weeks, but, so far, it's a keeper. Don't expect immediate relief and be prepared for "new" pain when you first start. Hope it helps you too.
