We gave this as a gift to an woman in her 70's who wanted a gun case, but didn't want to advertise to guests and workmen that she had a collection. She was thrilled, and it matches her Arts and Crafts house.. It holds several guns and a few thin blankets as well. It's quite heavy and substantial - a more dense wood than particle wood. My husband put it together, but didn't have an alignment problem as another. "It did go together precisely as described, it was thoughtfully put together." were his comments. With a pillow cushion and throw pillows to the back, it looks like it's simply a bench.
I was looking for a fingerprint mechanism and thought that was the same as bio-metric. I was disappointed that the gun safe lock was so simplistic. After having used it, I believe it is more reliable and easier to use than the alternative. It is very easy to open in the dark and keeps loaded weapons out of the reach of unauthorized users. I would caution buyers not to use mutiple finger presses. The buttons must be pressed very precisely or the safe aborts the process. Keeping singular finger presses are definitely the way to go. I am well satisfied and would recomend it to others.
I needed a really big bag for my Ruger Precision Rifle, and this does the job (with the stock folded in to reduce length). What I don't like about it is the absence of dual zippers.
