It’s a good kid’s tricycle. The assembly was straightforward and only requires a few basic tools. This metal tricycle is big and heavyduty, hopefully it will last a long time.

I was excited to put this thing together for my youngest child's 3rd birthday. Unfortunately, the first one I received had a defect in the threading of the handlebar stem, which precluded me from being able to put it together. I sent it back to Overstock, and the 2nd one I received was the wrong color! But, instead of delaying my son's gift for a second time, I decided to talk him into keeping it, and Overstock gave me a partial refund for their error. Anyway, it has only been 24 hours since I put it together, but since there are no other reviews, I thought I would share my initial thoughts. The Positives: It is built like a tank, with all metal construction, so it should last a lifetime. The tires are large and air-filled; so again, long life expectancy, and great for off-roading. The seat is comfortable and adjustable, forward and back, as well as the angle, but wrench is required to do both. It also has a platform behind the seat, where another child can stand, and go along for the ride. The Negatives: The thing is heavy, especially for a 3 year old, weighing nearly 27lbs, which is about how much my 3 year old weighs! Thus, he actually has trouble riding it, especially if there is any kind of incline. He can barely reach the pedals, too, even with the seat on the closest setting. Any kind of turn also makes the one pedal go out of his reach. Hence, so far the only way he can ride it is on a flat surface, mainly using his feet to propel. I have a 4 year old, and he does a little better on it, but again, any incline requires my help to push him up it. I happen to have a 5 year old as well, and it is probably best suited for him, as the younger two just don't have the strength nor the leg reach to maneuver easily. Another negative is the instruction manual. It is almost worthless, as it lacks detail in every step. It would be like telling someone how to change their car brakes by saying 1. Remove Tire. 2. Change Brake. 3. Reinstall Tire. That is not too far from the truth! Anyway, so you just need to figure a lot of it out on your own. In conclusion, for the price, this trike seems like a great value, and I would recommend as long as your kids are big enough for it, and you don't mind dealing with a little frustration putting it together.

I BOUGHT THIS ITEM FOR MY GRANDSON,WHO IS QUITE CHUBBY HOPING IT WILL HOLD HIS WEIGHT. WHEN I OPENED THE BOX I WAS PLEASED TO SEE HOW WELL BUILT AND STRONG THE PIECES ACTUALLY FELT. THE FRAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE STEEL AND IT SURE FEELS LIKE IT! WE DIDN'T HAVE MUCH PROBLEM PUTTING THIS TOGETHER WITH AN ADJUSTABLE WRENCH AND AN ALLEN WRENCH. SEAT IS ADJUSTABLE AND SO ARE THE HANDLEBARS. IT ALSO HAS A STAND IN BACK OF THE SEAT FOR ANOTHER CHILD TO STAND, TIRES NEED AIR PUT IN THEM WHEN ASSEMBLED. SO FAR A GOOD BUY. THIS TRIKE ISN'T GOING TO FALL APART UNLESS YOU DIDN'T PUT IT TOGETHER CORRECTLY.PARENTS REMEBER THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE BRAKES,THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IS PUT YOUR FEET DOWN ON PAYMENT OR STOP THE PEDALS FROM MOVING BY PUTTING YOUR FEET ON THE PEDALS TO STOP THEM FROM TURNING. A VERY GOOD BUY .

It's solid and built to last. It's a heavy tricycle and a little big. It has an adjustable seat which is nice. It requires a wrench to adjust the seat, so you cannot easily go from a little rider to bigger rider. I ordered the black bike with a photo that shows black rims with black tires. Received red rims as a surprise. The assembly instructions are lacking. If you are not handy, you will become frustrated putting it together.

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"Does this bicycle go backwards with the pedals? Most bikes break when pedaling backwards? "

      • A:

You're right, most kid bikes have a coaster brake on the back wheel. This is a tricycle so when pedaling the front wheel, it can either go forward or reverse.
