How wonderful to see a game that is actually so sturdy it will last for years of constant use and not break down! My 12 year old son has Down syndrome and absolutely loves this game. It took us quite a while to play, each time we did, as we all kept losing the acorns to the wind! A good game for coounting, not just your own pieces, but everyone else's to see who is winning! Good for discussions, weather-the wind blew the acorns, what else does it blow? Heavy/light things etc? Feelings, squirrel is sad because he lost his acorns, what else makes us sad,/happy/angry etc. Stealing acorns, just for fun, musn't steal in real life, etc. Lots to talk about while playing, all within the context of the game. Lots of good fun hours of quality with the kids. Though my son is a little old for this, he is really into competition and loves playing with his friends and siblings. Colors are vibrant and squirrel squeezy is good for eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. I wouold definitely recommend this for younger children, especially since it does not need any reading skills and, once they know to play they can feel big about their own independance.
Played this game with my 7 and 10 year old boys. We had so much fun. They both rated it a 5. It's entertaining and can grow with the children. The clue cards are double-sided and rolling the dice adds an extra element of fun. Set up is easy a simple game board, cards and dice. We played for over an hour the first time. I highly recommend it and so do my children
I bought a lot of Melissa Doug wood puzzle and not all of it fits in this compartment. Also if the peg is too high then you cannot fit the next puzzle on top but u have to use the next slot on top. Very annoying if u bought a lot of their puzzle products.
