I installed this on my Mosin Nagant rifle. I wanted to keep it like original and so I could feel what it was like shooting one during world war 2. It works greats. Love it.Read More
when i received this item, the cross hairs were upside down from what they are supposed to be. to put them right side up would mean that there would be one dial on side and one dial on bottom.Read More
Not bad, but not great
The scope came packed in a nice box with decent instructions. Initial appearances were good, it looks to be sturdy and has origional type lens caps. No damage to the mount or body and it would look nice installed. I did return the item for two reasons: 1) the (freely turning) adjustment mechanisms were not click-stop and had a lightly stamped, difficult to read scale; 2) the three line sight picture (German Post Reticle) was not useable to me. The vertical line extended too far above the right and left horizontal lines allowing the point to be a few mm above the horizontal lines. As small as this scope is, the reticle needs to be precise to allow a good sight picture.Read More
Questions & Answers
The item comes with a cast iron scope mount, mounting screws and cast iron mount receiver.
Thank you for your interest. It comes with a mount, you will need to drill and tap screw holes in the side of the receiver for the mount to attach to. It’s a pretty easy job but also easy to make an error so you may want to have a gunsmith do it. Also you will need to either buy a bent bolt handle or have yours bent in order for it to clear the scope when cycling the bolt. You can buy a bent bolt. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions.
You either have to install your own sniper style bent bolt there are kits out there to do this or there are services that will do this for you. If you are really good with metals you can heat and bend your own but they come out considerably shorter. As for the fool who said his scope arrived with his cross hairs upside down and gave it a bad rating He knows nothing about Russian scopes of the era being used by untrained, non military personnel. The cross hares are supposed to be on the bottom it gives you a clear view for fast target acquisition. You just line up the three points up on what ever you are after and pull the trigger. I am a avid Nagant collector, customizer and restorer. I have too many of these rifles to talk about. I even have the tools to properly align and thread the end of the barrel to install muzzle breaks. (*)
