Great deal priced *** under manufactures retail price. See price in cart. Well, lets start with the negatives. Overstock uses ESTES and there is a lack of communication problem where Estes contacts you for delivery confirmation, day of week and time of day, which may change, and you receiving a second automated confirmation call. Which, can be transferred to a human operator which just confuses things because of the lack of communication between all involved parties and not knowing what has already transpired, from the time of purchase, to processing, to shipping that said, the people I spoke with where friendly though unknowledgeable to whats actually happening with prior confirmation calls and actual shipping process. So now on to the positives it was *** less than the manufacture listed retail price for this Pro XP557 model. It has springs not rubber cords. all the assembly tools are provided and they are good quality tools for Allen Wrenches. It states in the assembly instructions requires two people to assemble, though a mechanically inclined individual could do the job with a little more effort, it is a large cumbersome item at a little over 8' long and 160 lbs. it comes with the rebounder thats a bonus one less item to purchase. the DVD series yes, Series 3 DVD's so all levels of training Beginners, intermediate, advanced with easy to follow instruction featuring Marjolein Brugman pilates instructor. It moves a little fast for beginners but pause and rewind can help with that. I'm Glad I purchased the Professional model it is like the one I used at my local YMCA but, now I don't have to pay *** minutes of personal training which I already did for 21 sessions which could have been used to purchase my own Pilates reformer apparatus but now I'm 21 lessons closer to being an advanced user. Summary: Great Deal huge savings confusing delivery process easy assembly lots of fun to use exercising becomes a game thats fun to play and you save money on YMCA, Gym memberships and personal trainers if you want a pilates reformer you can't beat this deal you want this: Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP557 55-5557B Overstock.com sent me an email that stated your order has shipped after it already arrived so be aware of the lack of communication between all parties involved in shipping this over sized item oh yeah there is an addition shipping charge for oversized items it is mentioned at the bottom of the description box on this page.
This has been a really good addition to my home gym. Easy to use, quick transition between exercises, able to work most all muscle groups. I was concerned about the condition it would arrive in because many other reviews say it arrived damaged. I talked to Overstock on chat and I was assured that if anything arrived damaged they would immediately send a replacement part. The boxes arrived pretty beat up, but nothing was really damaged. I will say that the packaging is inadequate. Some pieces were kind of scraped up, but nothing worth worrying about. The individual metal pieces are packaged in thin poly bagging, but that isn't going to keep them from rubbing on each other and knocking off some paint. The worst part is that the stack cover is in the bottom of the box with all the other metal pieces on top (the weights are sent separately), so it will get dented. Mine has one dent and the top had a pretty bad chunk taken out of it but I fixed it with pliers and there is a plastic cover that goes over the top and bottom edges so you can't see it anyway. The instructions are kind of difficult, mostly because there are a few pieces that are already put together but shown as separate parts. Mostly these are plastic inserts that go in the ends of tubes or handle covers, but I spent a lot of time looking for separate parts that I didn't realize had come already put together. I did have to make a few modifications: 1. The front feet out on the end were bent upwards like wings. I had to hammer them back so the bottom edges were flat on the ground with a rubber mallet. 2. I added padded grips to the bench press curved handles and replaced the bar grips with better ones. 3. The seat isn't tall enough for me (I'm 5 11 but have long legs and shorter torso), so I added some spacers under the seat to raise it up a little more than an inch. I also stuffed a rolled up pillow in the gap under the backrest so I have something where my tailbone sits. 4. I bought a separate short straight bar and connecting chain/hardware for curls on the low pulley. The bent bar wasn't working well for those exercises. So overall I rate it as good. Could be a little better, mostly in packing and setup, but certainly a good purchase and worth the money. An adjustable seat and an additional straight bar would certainly make it a 5-star product.
