This is my first Melissaanddoug order, and frankly, I never expected such quality-a completely wooden piano! The pictures do not do it justice.. It really is a beautiful piece. Thank-you so much!
Althought this says 3 years and up, it must be for a random reason to do with safety perhaps? Nothing easily comes off, so no worries there. We haven't had an issue with it tipping, either. My son got this for his first Christmas when he was 10 months old. He is now 14 months old and still plays it several times a day. AND my 6 and 9 year old play with it, too! Neat thought: they play it because it's there, in the living room with all the toys. EVERY SINGLE TIME they start playing it, within minutes they have moved to our front room and they play the big real piano. So, it's a good thought - it inspires them to play the big piano. The countless keyboard toys we've owned over the years have NEVER had the same reaction. My son was a late sitter, late crawler and still isn't even close to walking. Although he recieves in home therapy, I'm not sure he qualifies as special needs, but he is delayed, and he loves the piano. It's not quiet, BUT it's also not an irritating sound that is too loud at all, not too high pitched, not irritating. Highly recommend this product. I see myself buying another bigger version in the future when my sons balance is good enough to sit on something unassisted. This is perfect size for a sitting infant/toddler.
First of all you are not dumb. This package is designed for children and adults with no knowledge of music or piano. All instructions are simple and easy to understand. With the tone bank and rhythms this package is pure fun while you are learning. It is affordable, and takes up little space. I got this as a gift for my 9 yr. old grand twins. As a retired music teacher I highly recommend Piano for Dummies.
