I originally got this because I thought it would be really fun for my three-year-old to do because he likes taking things apart and putting them together.I was kind of disappointed because I thought that when you had your design sheet that you were able to clip it underneath and the color would show through the circle. And then the child could see the color and put the bolt right on top instead of looking back at the paper and then grabbing another bolt and counting over spaces. I know that's educational to count spaces and things like that but for a younger child that might be behind a bit they might just want to stick it in the hole to match the color and then of course you could also have the option to not attach it later on if they do want to do the counting and the spacing. I wonder if they offer a younger child option. But he does like playing with it so far.Read More
We just got it. So fare everything works good. In fact we made up several educational games out of it. I set up five colors, took one away and kids had to guess which one is missing. To make it harder, make a pattern, take away one, or two colors, they have to guess which one is missing. We mixed all bolts together and I gave each child their own color and they had to pick bolts of the color they got from me. The one who picked first say DONE and if there are no more bolts of his color, he wins. We played tic tac toe. One game I have in mind is to play sequence. You may have up to 4 players in it. And of course you make a pattern and your child continues it. So many games. I just want to help parents to find a good use of this game. Someone who is very smart invented it and now our kids enjoy it.Read More
My 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl love this toy. They love to mess around with drilling and undrilling things. The only flaw is that the case isn't very kid friendly. You have to place each nut, bolt, and piece in a certain way in order for the case to close. I have difficulty as a parent to even do it sometimes. For us, the kids just leave it open in the 'tool area' but I do wish we could close it up and properly put it away!Read More
I bought this for three boys we adopted 12 years ago. One is 15 now, special needs, and he continues to love this toy! We are buying our 3rd drill because he broke it (He is tough on toys). I am so thankful you continue to provide replacements, as he has only a few favorite toys that he plays with over and over.Read More
My kids love this and fought over their cousin's - We got it as a gift from their grandmother. Once we got it home and got it opened though, we found that the screw to open the bottom of the drill did not re-screw into the threads with batteries in it. So now we have the bottom of the gun taped shut and we have to retape it every couple of hours. It's a huge pain but the kids like it in general.Read More
As an Activity Director that works with seniors in a memory care unit, this is a great idea. However, I would like to propose that a similar product be made that is more appropriate for seniors. I see this product in many of the nursing home supply catalogs for activities. However, I would LOVE to see a brown plastic board (resembling a piece of wood) and gray screws (that resemble actual bolts). This gives a more realistic look for senior adults. My 4 year old son has this item as well and he loves it. It works great to strengthen find motor, color recognition, pattern recognition and so many more teaching moments for kids.Read More
My 3 year old son recieved this for Christmas this year. The second time he played with it the screwdriver started to smoke and now the forward motion will not work. It's too bad because this has the making of a great toy!Read More
My two-year-old received this as a gift for Christmas and enjoyed it from the start. Even his five-year-old sister enjoyed using it to make the designs included in the package. However, reverse on the drill never worked and now, after six months, the drill has stopped working all together, rendering the product practically useless. Quite disappointing for an activity I had great hopes for being one that my son would really enjoy.Read More
The jumbo power screwdriver is poorly constructed. The one we got out of the box didn't work. We ordered another and it didn't work either. Seems that the soldering on the connections is faulty. We heard rattling inside both screwdrivers we received.Read More
