I LIKE WHAT YOU GUYS THOUGHT OF EXCEPT FOR ONE THING THAT I FEEL IS MISSING, MULTIPLE SPEED. THE LEAST YOU GUYS COULD HAVE CAME UP WITH IS A 3 SPEED. CAN YOU GUYS COME UP WITH AN UPGRADE KIT FOR A 3 SPEED SOON?
My husband and I both decided we wanted to get bikes. I did a lot of research as far as quality and pricing. This bike rides great and is well made. Assembling was really easy. This bike comes with most of the hard work done. We took it to a bike shop for upgrade tire tubes since we ride where there are thorns. The bike shop owner was impressed with the quality of our new Firmstrong. He also said the gearing on the three speed was the newest technology out. We are very pleased with our purchases.
This is a slick, well-designed 8 speed folding bike from Dahon. I previously purchased a Speed Uno (also from Sports by Sager) and loved it and was ready to add a second folder to my repertoire. The speed uno is a great bike and fun to ride- the Qix is a great upgrade. The vertical fold is extremely handy and can be engaged and disengaged in about 5 seconds, even more easily than the classic folding mechanism used in Dahon's other traditional folders. A great feature is that the bike can be carted around by bringing up the handlebars and rolling it on the roller-blade wheel on the cargo rack. The ride is smooth and the components are high quality. It comes with fenders in addition to the cargo rack. It's ready to ride straight after unboxing. All you have to do is screw on the wheels and pull up the chain onto the gears. The seller (sports by sager) has been fantastic to work with. The bike was shipped quickly, the price was as good as anywhere you will find online. Buying with overstock club O gold will provide a solid 5% rebate and you get free shipping. I would definitely recommend purchasing a dahon bike from overstock and have myself already purchased two.
It was a little difficult to assemble, as the instructions included were for a completely different bicycle. (this is a 16" child's bike, and the instructions were for an adult size multi- speed model) Some of the features, such as training wheels, basket were rather weak in quality, but overall the bike was well received and will suffice for medium use for a time. Not bad for a "first bike". Thank you for the opportunity to shop with you.
