This machine's vibration seems to be just as strong as any of the more expensive brands. However, because it lacks an arm rest, it does not target the upper body as much. You would have to shift and re balance your weight to feel the vibration in the upper half of the body. Although compact in size, it is a bit heavy and bulky. Aside from that, I would buy again.
Got this item for my daughter. She uses it for ankle strength, core work and balance. We keep it in the living room and she'll hop on while waiting for me, watching tv or just for a couple of minutes here and there. The price was fair, quality great. Just what we were looking for.
After several months of lower back pain, I learned through visits with various specialists that I just had weak muscles in my core. After one week on the ball chair, I'm already feeling like me again! I've also noticed my posture is better overall - even in seating where people typically slump.
I love this chair! It helps with my slouching and my leg-crossing, both of which I am always working to stop. The only downsides to this chair is that I have to re-inflate it every few months, and the breaks on the wheels are easily tapped, which is irritating, and one of them has already broken off (likely the fault of a student, but anyway). The final thing that I found problematic was that this particular chair was too short for my desk, and I had to purchase chair leg extenders from http://www.gaiam.com/product/classic-balance-ball-chair-leg-extenders/95-1561.html
