These are the Cadillac of sleeping bags for warmpth and comfort. My husband and I bought them for hiking the AT, Florida Trail, and camping in general. They weigh more than most people carry while backpacking but they are worth every extra ounce! We have a Tempurpedic mattress at home so we are very spoiled when it comes to comfort. The high loft is the most comfortable sleep we've ever had in a bag! The different material on this inside gives even more "at home" feeling anf we didn't experience the sliding around that usually comes from a bag. I tend to toss and turn in my sleep and even doing so I never got wound up in this thing! It was in the 30's when we first used them and we stayed toasty warm. Huge value for the money. We did have to buy heavy duty compression sacks (from our local hiking store) to get them down small enough to get in our backpacks, and it is a little of a struggle, but again, it's just worth it. Remember, heavier than many other options out there but if comfort is important to you it'll be worth it. By the way, we are both big people also (my husband is 5'11" and 285 lbs) and we fit in these just fine.
Great sleeping bag....especially if you are tall. Very roomy for a mummy bag...which is why I purchased it. I can't stand how small some are. (I am 5'5" and 140 lbs. and this is really roomy) This seems exceptionally well made, has all the bells and whistles of more expensive bags and stuffs to a reasonable size. I plan on using this car camping throughout Alaska in May/June where the temps vary from 25-75 degrees. Lightweight so I think it will cover the range without being too hot. It will be used with a pad under and in a tent. Tried it outside on a 30 degree day and I was toasty and felt no wind seeping in (on snowy ground with medium wind) and could tighten up the hood end so it is like a cocoon in there. If you are worried about the temp rating, I would be sure to include a good sleeping bag pad as the ground cold probably would migrate through the bottom. We also own the -20 Ledge River and love it, but that one is significantly bulkier than this one and probably weighs 2 lbs more too. First time we have bought Ledge, and I am glad we did!
I ordered these for our family of four. My husband who weighs about 250 lbs slept fine as did our 2 boys. They have held up on 2 camping trips so far. I am a side sleeper and woke up approximately every 20-30 minutes with hip pain. I recently heard a tip that suggests side sleepers did a little hole under their tent for hips and shoulders so I'll be trying that next time.
I'm 5'11 and a skinny 150 lb Floridian. I had plenty of room with my height it is a mummy bag so it is more snug then typical bag. On my trip to the BWCA temps dropped to high 30's at night and I was plenty warm. Quality looks great and it comes with a compression sack so it compresses nicely. and for the price its one of the best values for the money on something I've purchased The +20 temp rating states its a survival rating, I believe you can probably easily be very comfortable at the lower temps getting near this number if you throw on some extra sweatshirt, get out of the wind, and have any halfway decent foam pad under you. over all honestly very happy with this bag! and I love the coloring if you get lost in the woods you could probably use it to flag a rescue chopper with it
