I ordered a quantity of (2), both were packed extremely well. We do a lot of outdoor cooking all year and this will be a new experience for us. Received item within 7 days of ordering a little slow but all is well. I am experienced with cast iron as I cook on them daily in my household, after doing research on discadas I chose to go with the cast iron, By the way Bayou Classic is the only company that makes a cast iron discada. There are other companies that are making the carbon steel discada, but cast iron is the way to go, because it will never need to be replaced. I plan on seasoning them this weekend with several packs of cheap bacon. Don't be Scared, the surface is rough, but that's why you season it.The best way to season is with bacon, bacon and more bacon . Step one wash with hot water no soap. The first batch of bacon that you cook do not consume. I will cook about three batches of bacon all outdoors on the propane stove. Continue to cook on it as often as possible and it will be non stick in no time.
I remember years ago having a few of these. They are durable, insulate well and look good. If this one lasts as long as previous Stanley thermos', I'll never need another one.
