Blocks are quality (similar to legos) with a good price but the directions are very hard for even an adult to follow, much less a 5.5 year old. It's not easy to "count over" when looking at the picture directions to make sure the blocks are in the right place. Obviously being one off can throw the entire project off. Overall a good buy, but we're disappointed our 5.5 yr old can't really do it himself because of the difficult directions (he can do real legos by following their picture directions).
A great toy for creatvity. This is a wonderful choice for a family with several children of different ages. Oldest grandsons ages eight and seven can build and sisters three and one year too as there are no small parts that could be choking hazards . Order SEVERAL sets for the family. The box individual set of 24 allows very limited projects. We ordered six sets for the four children and put all the pieces in a clear plastic box. All four play with this every morning before school. No arguments if you you order enough so all can share.
