Blackhawk Cheek Pad Soars Beyond Expectations
I have had this product for over a month and wanted to use it a few times before writing a review. When the cheek pad arrived it came in a timely manner from Overstock and was nicely wrapped. I was even able to utilize the packaging for a "zip lock tool holder" for my range bag (getting two useful items for the price of one). I have a custom .308 which I tried the cheek pad on. It was a little small for use with the custom stock. It would probably fit a factory .308 stock well. However, my intention was (and is) to utilize this cheek pad on a SKS rifle which has a Choate side scope mount. The Blackhawk cheek pad fits the bill as it raises my cheek weld sufficiently to effectively utilize the Nikon 2X7 I have on the SKS while also allowing me to still utilize the SKS' iron sights. Both the SKS and the .308 has been to the range several times during the past month. Upon returning from each trip I clean the firearms which gives me an opportunity to inspect the cheek pad. Everything seems to be holding up properly. The Blackhawk cheek pad seems to be weathering its use as well as the twice as expensive US Palms riser I have on the .308. The Blackhawk cheek pad has also been used in rainy weather and again seems to hold up nicely. I feel I am getting my money's worth with this product and I would definitely recommend it to SKS owners as well as others in need of a no frills (no zippered pockets, etc.) cheek pad.Read More
